The Most Played Love Songs of the 21st Century.

Music licensing company PPL has released an official chart of the Most Played Love Songs of the 21st century.

Chasing Cars, Snow Patrol’s 2006 Grammy-winning track comes tops, followed by Rule the World by Take That at number two and Can’t Get You Out of My Head by Kylie Minogue at number three.

Aggregated using PPL’s exclusive UK airplay data, the chart collates those songs about love, longing and adoration played on BBC and commercial UK radio stations between 2000 and 2015.

The top 20 songs in the list is below:

Snow Patrol – Chasing Cars
Take That – Rule The World
Kylie Minogue – Can’t Get You Out Of My Head
Beyonce feat Jay-Z – Crazy In Love

Van Morrison – Brown Eyed Girl

One of my favourite bands is Snow Patrol,  Chasing Cars is not particularly my favourite song by them.  I like ‘Run’ and ‘You could be Happy’.

This animated version of  ‘You Could be Happy’ is lovely 🙂

If I was to pick one off the list,  I’d go for Whitney Houston.   I used to listen (and try to sing along to her :)) when I was younger. One of my vocal coaches 😉 Brilliant! Such a shame she’s no longer with us.  What an amazing voice! Sing loud people.  Here we go…

Which song would you choose off the list? Oh… and why? 🙂

That’s nice Debs, I’d not heard that one before. I like Set the Fire to the Third Bar best by Snow Patrol I think. If I had to choose one from the list to sing to Greg, it would be I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing. x
